This cup is inspired by our own moon. The textured craters are carved by hand, and capture the Black Iron/Chrome stain that is used as an inlay. Some of these cups also have a brown/orange hue to resemble the harvest moon. This effect is caused by other pieces of pottery placed next to the cup; they "flash" hot gasses onto the asteroid cup causing the hue of the cup to change. The inside of all of these cups is glazed over with a deep black Oil Spot glaze; resembling the deep void of space.
