This jar would make a beautiful addition to any home or business setting. Place it either on the floor or a sturdy table or shelf.
It was made from Stoneware clay on a traditional kick-wheel, using a "Coil Building" technique where long coils of clay are rolled out. The vase survived the first kiln firing to 1800 degrees F, then sat for 6 months in my studio, while I decided what glaze might be best. I decided on an "Experimental" color pallet of dark splashes, with drips of black, light blue and white, all underneath a clear glaze. It survived the 2280 degrees F firing, and is now finished. The motion of the splashy glaze colors still lets you see the carved, clay texture, while giving a sense of motion that will activate your home or business setting with this beautiful accent piece.
